Child safety standards
AskLoca has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Here is what we do to prevent it and how you can report it.
Our standard
AskLoca does not allow child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, the sexualisation of minors, sextortion, trafficking or any other form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This applies everywhere in the app and on the website: posts, comments, questions, answers, photos, offers, profiles and chat.
AskLoca is for adults aged 18 and over. We remove accounts that belong to people under 18 when we find them.
How to report a concern
- In the app: open the post, comment, answer, profile or chat message, tap the menu or press and hold, then tap Report and choose Sexual or inappropriate (or Something else) and describe the problem.
- By email: write to support@askloca.com with the subject Child safety. Include a link or the user name if you can.
- To stop contact straight away, tap Block on the person’s profile, comment or chat. You can also report in the same step.
If a child is in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency services first. In Egypt you can call the Child Helpline 16000. Then report it to us so we can act on the account or content.
What we do when we receive a report
- Our team reviews every report within 24 hours; reports about child safety are handled first.
- We remove the content straight away and suspend or permanently remove the account.
- We keep the information needed for an investigation and report it to the relevant national and regional authorities, and to child-protection organisations such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children where required by law.
- We never ask the reporter to share the material again; please don’t forward it.
How we help prevent it
- Posts, comments and business names are checked before they go public, and reported content is hidden for review.
- Every member can report content and users, and can block anyone.
- Phone numbers are not shown in chat, and we show place names, never exact home locations.
- Our Terms of Service and Community rules prohibit all abusive and sexual content involving minors.
